You are in for a fabulous treat! We are most fortunate to host Emily Kurn from Anchorage, Alaska for our next house concert. Emily was a New Folk Finalist at the 2007 Kerrville Folk Festival and took Second Place in the 2007 Woody Guthrie Songwriting Competition for “Mississippi Moon” and Honorable Mention for “If I Am American”.  Randall Williams is touring with Emily, so we get a double treat. Both have been playing most of their lives, were classically trained and have returned to their first love of singing, playing and writing songs.  Please take a few minutes to visit their sites and listen to their music. Emily Kurn is an amazing singer/songwriter from Alaska. You can hear her tomorrow at 9 p.m. MST, live on the web from her Whole Wheat Radio house concert in Talkeetna, Alaska. She has a beautiful, clear voice and writes wonderful story-songs with wit, tenderness, passion and host of other emotions. So far I have only gotten to listen to her music online, but I can tell she is a magical performer. She will be in Las Cruces for a house concert with us on February 10, 2008, two short months away.
